Estimating
Estimating calculates the cost to produce a printed piece from start to finish. Estimates are prioritized by the date needed by the sales department. Estimating reviews the "Request for Estimate" form to see if it is filled out completely. If information is incomplete or unclear, the estimator will confer with the sales person for additional information. Estimating plans the most efficient and cost-effective system to produce the piece based upon Acme's capabilities and customer's specifications. Estimators also need to evaluate the piece or paper stock requested and try to provide the customer with an alternative quote that will either reduce cost and/or better fit the end use of the customer.
Costs are calculated on the Hagen System factoring in material costs, labor costs, and other vendor costs. Estimating reviews the estimate to ensure accuracy and prints a detailed report and letter of quote for the salesperson. The completed estimate is then returned to the appropriate sales person.
